“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,
declares the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8,9).”
The news shows them yelling, screaming, pushing and shoving. Unruly children? Radicals on a college campus? No. We’re talking about middle-aged men and women at a political meeting upset over the government’s push to change the way health care is administered. The same kind of folks were also in the news recently protesting high taxes.
It’s interesting what gets people upset these days. You will not find these same people at a clinic feverishly demanding that a life in the womb not be terminated. If people really had God’s perspective on unborn children, they would be storming the place. Psalm 139 tells us that God made us in an intricate, wonderful way in the womb and planned out our lives. Millions of babies have not had a chance to live out their days because people view them as disposable.
One of the concerns of older folks in the current health care debate is that some government bureaucrat will be allowed to decide if they live or die. If only these well-meaning people and the rest of society would wake up and see that this decision has already been made for unborn children. If only they had God’s perspective.
