“Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me (Psalm 66:20)!”
For the last three years I have been walking the 2 km distance to work. Much of the walk was down a dirt road past some small forest. Sadly the road is paved now.
Most of the time the trek has been in the dark of the Finnish winter. It has been a good time to pray. Over this time I developed something of a prayer ritual on this walk.
After about 2 blocks from our place the Finnish fresh air started to wake me up.
Walking by this old Finnish barn and crop field was refreshing, too. Lately, I have been trying to appreciate God's nature more.
Time to pray. Here I would put on myself and my family the whole armor of God. Some dark mornings I was accompanied by a mass of stars.
Dead Man's curve, preparing to listen to God.
Down the hill, listening to whatever God had to say to me.
Up the hill to school, praying for my colleagues.
Down the hill toward campus, continuing to pray for my colleagues.
Some last minute spiritual warfare as I walk on to campus.
Into the building, prepared for the day.
