The wonders of technology allow people, including these high-profile ones, to do their jobs from anywhere. Worldwide travel and communication provide us with the opportunity to fulfill our missions across the globe. Sometimes, traveling around the world IS the mission, as in the case Guy Lalibertie, the circus owner who recently traveled into space.
It wasn’t so easy back in the time of the apostle Paul. He had to conduct an arduous trip to Jerusalem to fulfill a task God had assigned him. Confronting hostile officials and crowds, he shared Christ. Things got so hot for Paul that he had to be protected by 500 soldiers. But God told him not to worry. “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome”, God said (Acts 23:11). The Lord had another long trip and a new mission in mind for Paul, and He intended on protecting and providing for him.
We might accomplish the Lord’s work from in front of a computer screen or on a jet airliner on the way to Asia. But it doesn’t matter to God. He will take care of us and help us to accomplish the work He has given no matter where we are.
